High on Fire was born from humble beginnings late in the summer of 1998…. After a few short months together they had forged an unstoppable force to be reckoned with. They were formed from Stoner Metal band Sleep’s guitarist and frontman Mike Pike in his quest to build a much heavier metal band to conquer the masses. HOF’s first demo became one of the most sought after metal demos in years, with classics such as Master of Fists and Blood from Zion. Labels flocked to get a piece of this bashing metal group…. Soon they recorded and released their debut album The Art of Self Defense in 2000 that grabbed instant attention and accolades the world over, from big magazines such as Rolling Stone and Spin, and the rest is history … these guys will rip your face off.
