When Chris Waring took the overall APSS title last year, little did he know that along with all the cash and the top rating, he’d also score a Ghetto Juice cover. That was the deal. Whoever wins the inaugural APSS Tour would also score the cover of a future mag… and this was it! RED BULL SWITCHBOARD BRINGS OUT 600 STUDENTS FOR THE ULTIMATE ACTIONS SPORTS DREAM DAY
The SoCal sun was out in full force yesterday at Red Bull Switchboard, as more than 600 college students from over 25 different colleges participated in the ultimate action sports dream day of surf in the morning and snow in the afternoon. Students from San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles began the day surfing at Huntington Beach and La Jolla Shores alongside professional surfer Jamie Sterling. After riding the big waves, participants took a two-hour journey up to Bear Mountain for an afternoon on the slopes with professional snowboarders John Jackson and Brock Crouch.
“It was an awesome day doing two of my favorite sports,” Sterling said. “It’s a unique thing to be able to do two board sports in one day and hanging out with all the college kids was a blast. Being able to participate in surf and snow in the same day was a first for me and a really great experience.” From swimsuits and water to thermals and snow, Red Bull Switchboard put a smile on every participants face.
